Job Title:

Repair and Service Engineer

As a Repair and Service Engineer you will deliver on-site installation, commissioning, repair, and maintenance activities for pumps and rotating equipment while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, to the required quality standards, and in accordance with customer specifications. The role acts as the main point of contact on site and is responsible for supervising customer personnel, contractors, and supplied labour where required.

When not engaged in field service activities or customer site work, the position holder will be working within the Fitting Shop at Hayward Tyler’s Luton facility, supporting the assembly, overhaul, repair, inspection, and testing of pumps and rotating equipment.

What you will do:

• Carry out installation, commissioning, repair, and maintenance activities at customer sites.
• Act as the primary customer contact during site activities.
• Supervise customer personnel, contractors, and third-party labour when required.
• Ensure all work complies with company and customer health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Conduct and contribute to risk assessments and promote safe working practices.
• Deliver work to agreed specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
• Control costs and utilise resources efficiently.
• Apply sound engineering principles and problem-solving techniques to site activities.
• Coordinate with engineering and management teams to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain accurate and timely site documentation, including service reports, timesheets, and expense claims.
• Support multiple pump and rotating equipment builds and overhauls.
• When not undertaking site work, support repair, and overhaul activities within the Luton Fitting Shop.

What you will need

• Previous field service or site-based experience is beneficial.
• Experience working with pumps, rotating equipment, or similar industrial machinery.
• Experience within the Power, Manufacturing, or Oil & Gas sectors.
• HV Electrical certifications.
• Offshore Safety & Emergency Training Course(s).
• Familiarity with Install and Commissioning.
• HNC, Technical Certificate, or a completed apprenticeship in engineering and/or equivalent job experience.
• Experience in reading and understanding engineering drawings.
• Mechanical and/or electrical hands-on experience.
• Strong practical problem-solving skills and willingness to develop technical knowledge.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Overhead Crane/Slinger Operators Course.
