As a detail-oriented professional, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of inspection activities, the detection and resolution of problems, and the delivery of satisfactory outcomes.
What you will do:
The main duties will be to
• Develop and manage the quality control and quality assurance procedures and conformance reviews ensuring contract requirements are met.
• Creation, preparation, and implementation of the quality plan and any associated and relevant directives, procedures and instructions needed to support the plan.
• Review of enquiry documents and preparation of summary Quality Assurance/Quality Control documentation as part of quotation submission.
• Preparation and maintenance of product specifications and process procedures.
• Review concessions / permits and project non-conformances.
• Preparation and control of quality plans for contracts.
• Conduct reviews and verify documentation required as per the quality plan (ITP) for contracts.
• Provide support to production for process procedure training.
• Maintenance & control of NDE, weld & welder qualifications where appropriate.
• Ensuring changes in QA/QC specifications are reflected in accordance with current standards and requirements.
• Monitoring and incorporating changes to QA/QC compliance incorporating relevant design codes (KBM, ASME, Norsok, API, etc).
• Material certification checks to required standards.
• Provide quality support to Sales, Operations, Production Engineering, Manufacturing and Test.
• Participation or leading quality improvement projects.
• Conduct supplier and internal QA audit activity inclusive of external auditing bodies.
• Support of improvements in quality documentation with drive to reduce ‘Time to Market’ and the support of serial working process.
• Work in accordance with the documented Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and instructions. Maintain high standards at all times, report problems or deviations associated with H&S to the responsible Manager/ Supervisor.
• Supports Continuous improvement efforts through involvement in structured problem solving and other activities using LEAN concepts.
• Any other related duties as required.
What you will need
• Degree/Advanced/Higher Apprenticeship in Engineering, Quality and/or equivalent job experience
• 5+ years of work experience in a Quality Engineer role at a similar manufacturing site
• Strong understanding of quality standards and requirements to ASME
• Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, standards and specifications.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Valid Full driving License
• Valid UK Passport
• Available to travel abroad when required.
