At Hayward Tyler, we are actively involved in all our communities.

Whenever one of our team is fundraising – for example, by taking part in activities such as hiking, skydiving, cycling and running – we always support them by matching donations to their chosen charities.

Among the causes we have recently supported are:

  • Special Olympics
  • Local children’s charity
  • British Heart Foundation
  • The Lullaby Trust
  • CHUMS Bereavement
  • Macmillan Cancer Support
  • Alzheimer’s Society
  • Human Relief Foundation.

We also sponsor the Luton Food Bank and a local little league baseball team, among other good causes.

In Colchester, Vermont where Hayward Tyler’s US facility is based, one of our team won a community competition to design a creative and innovative bike rack for use across the town. The designs were fabricated in-house and donated to the town.

Hayward Tyler is also involved in the following UK initiatives:

  • Luton Technology forum
  • Luton Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Business Network
  • Chamber of Commerce
  • East of England Advisory Board

Environmental Policy

At Hayward Tyler we aim to minimise our environmental impact, complying with regulatory statutes as our minimum. In our US facility, several lighting fixtures have been upgraded to efficient, long lasting LEDs reducing our energy consumption. As a group we focus on 5S and continuous improvement, allowing us to ‘reduce, reuse, and recycle’ through organising our facilities, to use materials and keep out of a landfill.

  • Design products without using hazardous, toxic or scare materials
  • Consider the possibility of recycling in the design stage
  • Promote the reduction of the consumption of materials and encouraging reuse and recycling when possible
  • Promote energy efficiency
  • Strive to prevent pollution, reducing emissions and minimising waste
  • Consider suppliers who minimise their impacts on the environment
  • Promote environmental awareness and responsibility
