Our business success is directly linked to the success of our people, and we are proud of the investment we make in ensuring they succeed and we continue to build a highly skilled and flexible workforce.
We give our staff access to everything from on-the-job skills development – such as specialised European welding, Lean, and Six Sigma – right through to MBAs. As just one example of our commitment, we have invested 26,000 hours – the equivalent of three weeks per person – in developing the skills of everyone working in our Nuclear division to NVQ Level 3.
We have an outstanding track record in recruiting talented graduates and apprentices who both benefit from our extensive continuing personal development programmes. Many also move rapidly through the ranks soon after joining Hayward Tyler and are able to achieve positions of real responsibility far more quickly than in other – often much bigger – engineering companies.
In 2015, we achieved Silver accreditation with Industrial Cadets, a programme working with UK-based employers to create a pipeline of talent while also helping young people aged between 11 and 19 develop their skills and confidence.
